As part of Chester County Library System’s America 250 Celebration, we received a 12-inch bell to decorate and display. We are looking for a local person or group to decorate our bell as part of the America 250 Celebrations happening throughout Chester County. There are no restrictions on who may apply. Our bell must be ready to display by May 1, 2026.Â
Bells are light weight and made of thin plastic. They can be decorated using any art material that will adhere well and be permanent. Our bell will be displayed indoors and might be taken to outreach opportunities.Â
The final design will be chosen by the library and must be acceptable for public display and appropriate for all ages.Â
Themes for Bells Across Chester County Library System are:Â
- Philadelphia Campaign of 1777 - Brandywine to Valley Forge
- Chester County Iron and Steel Heritage
- Agricultural Bounty
- Chester County Path to Freedom - Harriet Tubman & Kennett Underground RailroadÂ
